Readjusting development cooperation in turbulent times

The annual Van Vollenhoven lectures are organized in honor of Cornelis van Vollenhoven, the Leiden law professor, who acquired fame between 1901 and 1933 for his elaborate and detailed description and analysis of  the laws of  the Netherlands-Indies as well as for his impressive contributions to public international law.

Minister Koenders will share and discuss his views on the contribution that rule of law can make to development as well as on the ways Dutch development cooperation can contribute to the rule of law with an audience of academicians, students, practitioners from development organizations and other interested participants.

Preceding Minister Koenders' lecture  ALADIN (Association for Law and Administration in Developing and Transitional Countries),  KREO (Kenniscentrum Rechtsstaat en Ontwikkeling)  and SOL (Studentenvereniging Ontwikkelingssamenwerking Leiden) will organize a workshop on Good Governance in Dutch Development Policy at the same venue.
