  Sexist workplace cultures turn women into ‘queen bees’
If your organisation wants more women at the top, you will not succeed just by appointing a few women to top-level positions, claim Leiden researchers. You would be better off changing the sexist organisational culture, because this creates ‘queen bee’ behaviour, where women fight for their own position rather than for their gender.

  5.7 million European subsidy for Living Lab The Hague
With the development of the Living Lab The Hague, Leiden University/Campus The Hague and the municipality of The Hague are aiming to further strengthen the knowledge infrastructure in the city. The European Union is providing a subsidy of 5.7 million euro.

  Two ‘Green Genetics’ subsidies for Leiden Institute of Biology
Professors Paul Hooykaas and Remko Offringa have won two of the four 'Green Genetics' subdies for the Leiden Institute of Biology. Hooykaas for his research into a method of modifying plant DNA with the help of bacteria, and Offringa for his research into plant propagation in a test tube.
