For Whom? Calculation of the Grant Conditions and Application Application Form
   

The University Executive Board (College van Bestuur) founded the Outbound Study grant (OSG) to stimulate graduate studies or research abroad.

Target group

  • All nationalities
  • Students participating in a 2-year master’s or a research master’s programme

For your studies or research in which countries
All countries outside the Netherlands.

Period
Minimum of 4 weeks – maximum of 12 months.

Additional requirements

  • Statement of your supervisor or programme co-ordinator that it is essential that you spend a study or research period outside the Netherlands with regard to your curriculum.
  • Own contribution of € 600 per month.
  • Applied for funding from at least 3 third parties (such as scholarship funds) applicable to your situation.
  • Submit the completed application for the grant 5 months before departure. The application should be received by Student and Educational Affairs at the latest 8 weeks before the departure date.
  • At least 6 weeks before departure, the copies of decisions on other study grants/funds should be in the possession of Student and Educational Affairs.
  • You are aware of the Rules and Regulations and agree to comply with these.

The coordinators may apply further academic criteria for the selection. In general, the following documents should be included with the application:

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • project proposal
  • motivation: what, where, why (indicate the standing of the institution)
  • budget
  • 2 original letters of recommendation (preferably from a professor + from a study adviser)
  • confirmation of acceptance at host university/institute/field station
