AROUND THE WORLD IN ONE DAY AT THE EMBASSY FESTIVAL IN THE HAGUE
On Saturday, 7 September 2013, a theme of global culture will sweep through The Hague during the Embassy Festival, an international festival in the most literal sense of the word. Cultures of the various participating countries will come together on the Lange Voorhout in the heart of The Hague through an innovative and transnational cultural programme presenting music, theatre, art and mouth-watering culinary offerings. Organised in close cooperation with the Municipality of The Hague (Department of International Affairs) and The Hague’s many embassies, The Embassy Festival is a greenhouse with room for experimentation and cross-overs that promises to surprise and appeal to the senses. Embassies will be present on the Lange Voorhout to demonstrate unique aspects of their country, while various countries and regions will present themselves on the festival terrain through characteristic features and products unique to that country. Also The Centre for Innovation The Hague, of Leiden University, will show their Inspirationlabs on the stage. A new concept to inspire students, researchers and the residents of The Hague. Over the coming years, the festival plans to evolve into a cultural journey, taking visitors all around the world in one exciting weekend. The founding partners of the Embassy Festival are APM Terminals and ABN Amro. In 2012 the festival was organised under the name The European Life I Live.
